Troy has shared with us the B.I G ( brain injury guidelines) criteria for admission and imaging.
See the email below

Hey Team,
During our retreat, we discussed how our unit is becoming more restrictive in conditions and what is worthy of admission.  Yesterday, Tristine astutely blocked an unworthy admission using the attached BIG criteria.  Today, I spoke to Dr. Lahiri, who said that we HAVE in fact adopted this guideline.  I was not aware these criteria became official; you may be you were in the same boat. So, I thought I'd share.
See the attached guidelines for your reference.  BIG 3 are the only ones we should admit.
It seems a number of ED MDs are still unaware of this.  Generally, NSGY is aware and agrees, however, some NSGY attending request NICU admissions still.   Trauma too is aware and agrees, as it's being taught in ATLS.
Hope this was helpful

CANP membership

CANP membership

Dr. Minissian kindly offered to cover CANP membership. CANP and its members achieved a historic victory with the passage of AB890 which codified full practice authority into law. CANP is also the proud sponsor of SB 1375 which supports the removal of restrictions on NP practice and updates provisions in existing law, enacted by AB 154 (Atkins) and AB 890 (Wood), authorizing nurse practitioners meeting specified criteria to practice without physician supervision. CANP aims to educate the public on the skills of nurse practitioners and empowers members by promoting professional development and leadership.

I highly encourage everybody to join. Please complete the membership application and submit it to Lindsay Ritter, AGACNP who also serves as Chair of the CANP West Los Angeles South Chapter by this Friday, June 24, 2022, by 12pm.
